Cassandra - Natural Birth
I believe that birth is natural. I believe in birth. I trust birth.
According to Webster’s College Dictionary,
The definition of “natural” is:
Existing in or formed by nature, happening in the ordinary or usual course of things without the intervention of accident, violence, etc., true to or closely imitating nature.
The definition of “natural childbirth” is:
Little or no use of drugs or anesthesia and usually involving a program where the mother is psychologically and physically prepared for the birth process.
When it comes to the issue of “natural birth” there are many strong opinions. I believe that in the absence of injury, illness, dis-ease, or complication all women are capable of natural birth. Women’s bodies are designed to give birth. That does not mean that natural birth is the right choice for every woman. It is not my place or my purpose to say that natural birth is the right choice for you.
It is my intention to help you find your way to give birth. I ask you three questions:
- How do you see birth?
- What is right for you?
- Are you making an informed decision?
